MTI

GSL-1600X-50-UL is a compact 50mm (2") tube furnace with Kanthal 1650 oC Grade SiC Rods heating elements. It is widely used in material & chemical labs to sinter all types of new material samples under vacuum or other gas conditions up to 1600oC. The temperature of the furnace is controlled by a 30 segment programmable high precision SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) digital controller with the accuracy of +/-1 oC. High-quality alumina tube, vacuum flanges with valves, and pressure gauge are included for immediate use. The tube furnace can be placed into a glove box to process material in various atmospheres.

Heating Elements

    • The heating element is consumables. Please click the picture below for detailed specs and order spare.
    • For SIC heating element, the Resistance change with life, please replace aging rod properly.
    • Note: Kanthal SiC heating elements are very brittle. To avoid damages during the transit, the heating elements will be separated from the furnace. Customers are required to perform the heating element installation by themselves. MTI will provide video instruction.

    Temperature controller (optional)
    • MTS02-Y Temperature control software kit (for YD518P series controllers) + 15" laptop package is available at the options bar. Click for the detail information about the MTS02-Y software package. 
    • You may upgrade the temperature controller to the Eurotherm 3004 Temperature Controller which is entirely compatible with LabVIEW. This package includes a Eurotherm 3004 programmer, a communication cable (RS485 - USB) and a software CD.     Tube and Flanges
    • High purity Al2O3 ceramic with Max. Working temperature.
    • 50 mm O.D x 41.8mm I.D. x 700 mm Length.
    • A pair of vacuum flanges with two valves and one pressure gauge is included. (click picture below to see detail)     
    • Two fibrous ceramic tube blocks are included for blocking heat radiation from the inside tube. (Ceramic blocks must be fully inserted into the furnace chamber before heating)
