MTI

MSKAFAIIVCIR is a CE Certified larger size automatic film coater with a vacuum bed and a rapid heating cover that heats up to 120ºC. It is designed to produce films with consistent thickness by using micrometer adjustable applicators or fixed-thickness applicators. It has a stable driving system to promote a smooth coating with all types of materials. The pin holes on the bed can hold the substrate sheet on the bed via a vacuum. This is very helpful when performing coating on a thin substrate. It is an ideal tool for ceramic tape casting and Li-Ion battery electrode coating.

Traverse Speed
  • 10 - 100 mm/sec variable [Without any load, the actual traverse speed is around 90 mm/s as the nomial speed is set as 100 mm/s. Therefore, the real speed for coating should be calibrated by customer themselves by using a ruler and stop watch]

Heating Vacuum Bed

  • A vacuum bed is made of aluminum alloy with a micro-size hole
  • Vacuum Chuck Dimensions: 600mm(L) x 300mm(W)
  • Heating elements are built inside the vacuum bed for uniform heating up to 100ºC Max. 
  • Precision digital temperature controller with +/- 1ºC accuracy
  • Type K thermocouple 
Rapid Heating Cover
  • 3 Electric Infrared Tubular heater Element is installed on the heating cover for rapid heating.
  • 1 thermocouple is installed for temperature reading.
  • Max Temperature: 120°C
  • Temperature accuracy: +/- 2°C
  • Heating Rate: approximately 1.2°C/s
Film Applicator

Application Notes

  • It is recommended to operate the coater under a fume hood. (Click Pic.3 for detail.)
  • You need a vacuum mixer to remove air bubbles from the slurry to make uniform coatings (Click Pic.4)
  • You may need a Slurry Viscosity Tester to make coatings consistent (Click Pic.5 for detail.)
  • You may need a vacuum oven to dry the films and remove the binder after coating. (Click Pic.6 for detail.)
  • Rolling pressing is necessary to ensure good density and adhesion of electrode materials to the current collector substrate after coating. Please select a rolling press from here. (Click Pic.7 for detail.)
