Scandia Alumina Stabilized Zirconia (6% Sc, 1% Al) Powder

Scandia partially Stabilized Zirconia (with 6 mol% Sc2O3) Powder provides a good combination of mechanical strength and ionic conductivity. ScSZ-6 is used as a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) electrolyte membrane for improving performance or reducing operating temperature; its higher mechanical strength enables membranes to be manufactured at lower thickness than ScSZ-10. Its mechanical strength is equivalent to that of yttrium partially stabilized zirconia (YSZ-3) and its ionic conductivity is twice that of yttrium stabilized zirconia (YSZ-8). The characteristics of this ScSZ-6 powder make it well suited for use in tape casting, ink formulation, pellet pressing and other ceramic manufacturing processes.
